Fresh off my Travel Alberta Google Trekker experience, I took on a second-consecutive Travel Alberta project. Working alongside four other photographers – @akusepp, @rawmeyn, @bokehm0n, and @shurupchik – I traveled along the Cowboy Trail from Waterton National Park to Canmore, Alberta. In just seven days, we saw a wild variety of landscapes and weather; it truly was Travel Alberta autumn at it’s finest.
Although we did visit the Alberta Rockies, our brief stay at Sierra West Ranch stood out as the trips most memorable day. The weather was terrible. It rained and snowed. We huddled by a fire for most of the afternoon. But the weather finally relented and we headed out to photograph some true western wranglers, riding on horseback across the foothills. The images aren’t my normal subject, but I left truly impressed with my results and determined to shoot more images with people.
