My spring, summer, and autumn blurred into a non-stop adventure. I bounced back and forth across Alberta, flew to South America and Europe, and biked across the USA. It was an incredible run, but somehow, I didn’t spend much time in my own back yard. In normal summer, I’d photograph the iconic Canadian Rockies landscapes like Spirit Island and Moraine Lake on numerous occasions.
After back-to-back projects in Ecuador and Austria, I landed back in Calgary on the same day the last boat traveled to Spirit Island. I checked my phone and realized I still had one last chance to photograph Moraine Lake, as the road didn’t close until the following morning.
I drove towards Banff and found a campsite for the night. The following morning, I was the first person to arrive at Moraine Lake. The light was spectacular, so I stayed for a few hours before eventually driving towards home. Hope you like the results.
