Microadventures by Alastair Humphreys

June 6, 2014 by Jeff B. Leave a Comment

British Adventurer, author, and storyteller Alastair Humphreys hasn’t been traveling as far recently, choosing to explore more of England in a series of microadventures. It’s been an overwhelming success; he was named the 2012 National Geographic Adventurer of the year and he’s created a worldwide movement, encouraging people busy with their 9-to-5 routines to maximize their weekends and add adventure to their lives.

Hell, he even has a series of 5-to-9 adventures that will have you back at work in time for that morning meeting, even if you’ll be a touch grimy.

Until now, the entire series has been on his website; however, he has just released an awesome looking book, Microadventure by Alastair Humpreys, (available in paperback, kindle, and ipad formats) on Amazon.

It’s already available for purchase in the United Kingdom and it’s available for pre-order here in Canada.

I haven’t had the opportunity to read Alastair’s book yet; however, I’ve pre-ordered a copy to insure I’ll be one of the first Canadians to have a read. I have followed the series on his website and I have little doubt the book is well wroth the money. I encourage you to all order a copy today!

Here’s quick look at the layout of Alastair’s newest book:

Alastair is asking for you help, too, because Amazon is the kingpin of book sales. As he puts it, do well on Amazon, and your book will do well. In the digital age of algorithms, if a book sells well on Amazon, its supercomputers will recognize it and instantly start promoting the book. The result will be more book sales, which will then equal more promotion. Do this a few times and Alastair will soon be a best selling author! And you know what, I believe he should be a best-selling author because he is selflessly motivating millions of people to choose a more active lifestyle.

Help Microadventures Succeed

This is how you can really help Alastair out (if you want to, of course!):

  • In order for Amazon to ‘notice’ his book and therefore promote it, he needs to generate a ‘spike’ of  early orders. Therefore he would love it if you would order his book on Amazon today. It is available as a book and also on Kindle and iPad.
  • As an incentive he is offering free copies of his other books and film. See here for details.
  • Even if you do not want to buy his book, please just click retweet to help get the word out:

@Al_Humphreys book proves if you’re busy with the 9 to 5, you can still add adventure to your life: http://t.co/3o9ctKmY6O #microadventure
