What an incredible journey it’s been this past month, with incredible adventures on two continents. I kicked things off with a 12-day trip in Kyrgyzstan, before spending 10 days hiking in Europe. On the final night in the alps, I enjoyed this Lac Blanc Sunset. It was the perfect ending to an exhausting trip.
I’d averaged just over 30 000 daily steps, camped in four different countries, and completed 8 different flights. I also came home rejuvenated and excited about my photography.
The past month best exemplifies the type of work I want to do. It was adventure photography. I wasn’t posing images close to the road or staging images to look like adventure. I had hiked more than 200 km and slept in my tent more often than not, while checking off some bucket list hikes. I couldn’t ask for anything more.

The trip ended on a high note. We’d been chased from Chamonix a week earlier, fleeing torrential rains and a poor forecast. After spending time in both Zermatt, Switzerland, and Gran Paradiso, Italy, I returned for two days. After a day hike to the Argentiere Glacier, I pushed on to set up camp and enjoy this Lac Blanc sunset. When I awoke the next morning, it was bittersweet. I knew my month-long adventure was over and the long journey home had begun, but its memories will last forever.
I’m sharing the incredible Lac Blanc sunset as this month’s desktop wallpaper, so please download the version that works for your device! I hope it brings a dash of colour to your workspace and encourages you to get outside and explore!
