For the second consecutive winter, I am off to British Columbia for the second annual #SkiBC Instagram Adventure.
Last winter, Destination BC sent me on the ultimate Powder Highway Roadtrip with a group of snowboarders. It was a memorable trip for so many reasons but I’d be lying if the destinations didn’t truly make it exceptional. We hit up three resorts I’d always dreamt of visiting – Kicking Horse, Whitewater, and Red Mountain – and enjoyed powder days at every stop.
This year’s #SkiBC trip carries a different character. Rather than traveling with professional snowboarders Leanne Pelosi and Jeff Keenan, I am traveling with my friend and instagram legend Lauren Bath. She’s brand new to skiing, so we’ll be spending less time on the slopes and more time exploring what goes on in and around these winter destinations.
Our itinerary is smaller, too, as we’re only visiting Big White and the local Vancouver mountains; however, I am still pumped because I have never been. It’s becoming my favourite annual assignment, as I have spent my entire adult life chasing two passions: photography and skiing. I am always eager and excited for opportunities to combine the two into a single project, especially when they involve new destinations!
