It almost doesn’t make sense to include astrophotographer Sean Parker on my Friday Square series, because his largest audience is on Facebook; however, I discovered his images through instagram and that’s the only criteria I have for this collection. All the images in this feed are his, and I bet they’re more than enough to have you clicking the links to follow Sean’s amazing night sky work.
Sean Parker is a landscape and astrophotographer living in Tucson, Arizona and he’s currently working on a Time Lapse project focusing on deep space photography and Arizona’s beautiful scenery. I had the chance to ask him 5 short questions and here’s what he had to say.
5 Questions with Astrophotographer Sean Parker
Q: What’s your instagram account name, how long have you had the account, and what’s your favorite subject?
A: @SeanParkerPhotography – I’m not sure how long I’ve had Instagram, is there a way to tell? I’m guessing since early 2012. My favorite subjects are landscapes and astrophotography.
Q: What’s the coolest place photography has allowed you to travel? What’s your dream destination?
A: My photography has taken me to lots of places and I’m very thankful for it. My favorite place has to be up the California / Orgeon coast in the Redwoods. It reminds me of when I visited New Zealand before I got into photography. That place is magical. My dream destination currently is Iceland. I’ve always wanted to photograph the northern lights and the landscape there is just amazing.
Q: How does IG fit into your regular photography workflow?
A: IG plays a huge role in my photography workflow. I normally check my feed everytime I wake up to find inspiration and to see how my fellow photographers are doing. After I edit and post a photo on my other social media sites, I throw it up on IG.
Q: What gear do you use – list it all! What’s your favorite setup? Dream Setup?
A: I’m a canon shooter so all my gear is canon based.

- Canon 5DMK2

- Canon 70-200 F/4 L

I would love to own the new Sony A7 series camera for its low-light sensitivity and video stabilizer. And, of course, I’d love to use a red camera for 4k slow-motion video.
