The past month has been spectacular, as spring finally relented and it feels like summer in Jasper. Nothing beats beautiful bike rides and big bears along the Jasper roadways!
Summer in Jasper is always fleeting, so locals tend to make the most of it. It’s not uncommon to climb a mountain, bike some singletrack, swim at the lake, and have a bonfire in a single day. Most people have to squeeze it all into a single day, too, as summer also means we’ll see nearly 1.8 million of 2.1 million annual visitors pass through town. Everybody is busy, whether its punching a clock or ticking off a bucket list.
My summer 2014 bucket list is quite simple:
- Revisit the Skyline Trail!
- Hike the Tonquin Valley!
- Bike every single (legal) bike trail!
- Swim in 10 lakes!
- Photograph more bears!
